Open Mic and Other Jams (some Bluegrass, some other)

Westland Bluegrass Jam
These jam sessions are on the first and third Tuesdays, from 7 to 9pm, at Dyer Center Wayne Westland Education Center, 36745 Marquette in Westland, MI (between Wayne and Newburg Roads). Terry Treppa is the host.

Baseline Folk Society
The Baseline Folk Society is at the Plymouth Community Arts Council, 774 N Sheldon Road in Plymouth. One of the leaders of the Westland Bluegrass jam, Terry Treppa, is a host. Open mic spots are available with signup. More details at their website.

The Owl in Milan
There is an open mic the second Monday of every month at The Owl coffeehouse at 9 W. Main Street in Milan. There is sign-up (they limit from 1 to 3 songs, depending on the number of performers), an MC to direct the jam, and it lasts from 6 to 9pm or so. Music genres include anything the performers want; this includes reading poetry. Bring your own instrument - they will provide the sound system. Details about The Owl are on their website.

Ann Arbor (Mostly) Acoustic Jam
Our group is actually a spin-off of this group. They meet every second Sunday, 7-9pm, at the UofM Turner Center (2401 Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor). No sign-up is required; people can just show up. Setup starts at 6:30pm..
